I have an HP LaserJet 1012 printer and for the past week now it has been printing out 5 little circles spread out about 3" apart on the left side of the page. This happens with every single thing that I print. It's a little bothersome, does this mean it just needs to be cleaned, or does something have to be replaced?? Any help on this, as always, is appreciated!!

Take out the cartridge and see if anything is stuck on the roller (usually green or turquoise in color) where the toner comes out and gets placed on the paper. There should be a wheel on one of the sides of the cartridge that will allow you to turn this roller as you shouldn't place you hands on it .If the group of circles are in the same pattern, and the groups are the same distance apart then most likely something has gotten on the wheel and needs to be cleaned off

I wish I could see a test page but I would believe it could be a defective controller board ?, a deformed or deteriorated transfer roller but examine transfer roller ? or a bad contact between the static eliminator and the engine controller board, my guess is you have no clue what I just said so you will need a printer technician but the printer is worth repairing and is a nice printer I would fix it if I were you, hope I was some help, good luck.
