A noun clause is all the words that describe the noun including the noun. I don't know if you're looking for the subject or predicate of the sentence, or both. The first one is "How the Aztecs" because "made" is the verb so that doesn't count, "their astonomical calculations" is a noun clause on it's own but is in the predicate of the sentence, which is also true of "the subject of my next paper."

With this explanation and example, try the others yourself.

OK Dani.1) What is the verb? is. What is the subject of "is"? How the Aztecs made their astronomical calculations. This is therefore the noun clause.
2) Verb? doesn't know. Subject? Mom. Object? noun clause.(why the twinswere melting tires in the kitchen).
3) Verb? dotted. Subject? Bits of what I hope were Maraschino cherries. (noun clause) Hope this helps.
