The British teacher has been found guilty in Sudan & jailed for 15 days... her defence team said:
"It was not bad."

This is madness... what should we do ?... send in the S.A.S. and bust her out of there ?.... or do you think she's got what she deserves ?

She is going to have a helluva time wrestling with her conscience and deciding whether her altruistic and empathetic attitude has actually got her anywhere - or sign on someone like Max Cliffords dotted line and make a mint out of this whole incredulous incident.

The smart money says cut your losses and build yourself a nice little nest egg for your retirement - How about that for cocking a snoot at the backward mentality of the muslim driven populace of the Sudan?

Sometimes we pay for stupidity. But in the current world situation it is possible to die for not being savy in another
country. Check the amount of Americans in South American
jails. I am grateful that they did not get down and dirty in
ingrained ignorance and flog her. Maybe she will be able to help some of the kids that go to other countries with no clue how far back in the woods they have landed.

It's a stupid law, in my opinion, but it's their country.

She should have known it would cause trouble - or at least suspected it given fundementalist attitudes to pretty much everything.

I'd take the fifteen days and the deportation - I mean, you wouldn't want to hang around after being released back into the community that shopped you, would you?

She'll be a cult hero and get her fifteen minutes of fame back home, probably make a few quid out of "Hello" magazine and the various tabloids, and have an unbeatable dinner party story for the rest of her life.

I am confused. I do know you have to respect the opinions of the countries you visit. Like Bangkok you may face death if you bad mouth their King. I live in in a country where terrorists are now in Government. Sorry I just dont know.

...I read the article twice...I honestly don't know what to think...in a religion full of laws, it's very difficult for someone not raised with a clear understanding of these laws to function within them before a mistake is made...that being said, I'm sure she meant no disrespect...and, if I'm not mistaken, respect is paramount with in this faith...so both sides are up in arms...I pray for a better understanding for all concerned and my heart goes out to the children who were also innocent victims...they must feel awful...and that's sad....

Seeing that this country depends on British handouts, perhaps we should hold back 10% and let them know the reason

Unbelieveable. She is completely innocent. They have stolen 15 days of her life that she will never get back.

I hope they realise that everywhere outside of Sudan, THE WORLD LAUGHS AT THEM. Remember the woman who got fined eating an apple whilst driving (UK), and it took over £10,000 of resources to convict her?

This is even crazier than that.

I hope she is treated well.

She got more for that than most foreigners coming to this country get, for a whole lot worse than she did. (If you think she actually did anything in the first place)
