I'm currently getting my masters degree in SLP, which partially deals with memory loss...I'm not sure how old you are, which would play a major factor in whether or not the neurons in your brain were losing their lubricaton or not to other areas of your brain. But regardless, how you try and nurse your memory back to health would be to do activities each day to enhance those pathways. In other words- say you watch a TV show or sports game, then go to bed, see how much you can remember by repeating the storyline or details to someone else in a conversation, or just to yourself in the shower. That helps with short term memory. Long-term memory is just the fact of rehersal and finding ways to keep things in your memory, the only way to help this is to keep going over things over and over each day so that that pathway in your brain is well used. So in your case, do math every day, and you'll slowly see an improvement. If you can think of shortcuts or little things to help you remember the certain math calculations, that's good too. I wish you luck, if worse comes to worse, try to take some ginko biloba as a reinforcer, but don't forget to take it !

Try some remembering games. You know like that old one where you flip over a card and you try and match it up with another one. It maybe a kids game, but it is an excellent way to help your memory process.

stop playing video games, get out from in front of the TV and get some exercise as well as do some brain strengthening things such as word puzzles or logic problems, and start eating healthy food (bad fuel = poor performance for the brain)
