If a x-ray is taken of the pelvic area, we can see bones of the fetus, if the pregnancy is advanced enough. We are probably talking about week 24 or so of a pregnancy, I would guess. We would not see anything on x-ray to indicate an early pregnancy.

It depends on what type of x-ray is being done and how crucial it is to get one.
For instance, dental x-rays are very mild compared to a cat scan.
But if there is a serious reason to get one (i.e. strong suspicion of a disease or problem) the benefits of x-ray would outweigh any possible risks.
If you do find the need for one, the technician will always ask if you are pregnant and if so, take necessary precautions and use extra covers.

Doctors used to x-ray pregnant women to look at the baby. Until they found out it was bad.

I believe so, but they always ask you if you think you might be pregnant before they do the xray

I guess you could, but a test of hcg hormone levels would be better, because it wouldn't hurt your baby.
