I find myself thinking to myself today, what am I doing wrong or right for that matter in regards to money and success?! I have family and friends around me that seem to have life just fall in there lap when it comes to money or success or what have you! I on the other hand, seem to have to fight for every nickel and dime I earn and quite frankly don't know how much longer I can do it! I along with my wife work 40+ hours a week and live in an apartment and we pay our bills the best we can and honestly make it week to week pay check to pay check. I need a method a means to achieve more. I guess what I'm asking is: I always have great idea's when people ask what to do but can never translate those idea's or into my life! I love certain things, technology being one of my passions; however can't seem to put that into something profitable! Does anyone out there have a serious idea for what I can do to start making a better life for myself! 3 kids a wife a dog is hard to manage on peanuts!

Two words for you: In. Vest. Make sure you start investing right away. I make a living trading stock options and investing in sports, but I can assure you that if you don't find a way to take part of your earnings and let it work for you, you'll never get ahead.

The "Law of Attraction" is screwing you.

I'm 27, relatively young, I was a welfare kid. I found out early on if I focused on success to the point where I strongly believed that I would be successful I would not fall into the same path that my parents were in.
The best advice I can give you is instead of looking at your future with a "Nothing is going to change" attitude. Look at it from the standpoint that you are in control of your life. What you and your wife need to do is look at what you are doing on a day to day basis and figure out what keeps you from getting a promotion, opening a business, or making more money.
If you know that nothing will change in the immediate future then you should take steps to change things in the present.
Quit your job and look for a career, it might not make you as much money up front, but you'll enjoy doing what your doing instead of punching a clock and that will eventually pay off big.

Sounds like a lot of smoke and mirrors? Trust me it works. You don't have to be smart to be successful you just have to be driven from within.

Remember Attack don't react.

If you have 3 kids, you might be eligible for a Pell Grant or other grants to go back to school. But then you can't make too much money on it either. My husband made it 1/2 way through school. got a 25 cent raise and his Pell Grant was cancelled because all of a sudden we "made too much money" which was a CROCK because we're in the same position. EXCEPT we only had ONE child and the fact that you have three may help!! I was laid off 3 months ago too and going back to work on Monday (thank goodness) but it's been hell.

Ahhh, I've been where you are. First thing you must do is change your mind. I'd love to suggest reading (you can also rent them at places like "Bookears" on CD for the car). Dave Ramsey "The complete Money Makeover" and this other fella who wrote (there is also cassette/CD) "Rich Dad, Poor Dad".

Two different authors, but they have been broke and wealthy. IT's not all about money, but I know what you are saying. YOU CAN STOP THIS TODAY but you must change your mind. At least read and/or listen to these two - to get you started. If you change your mind and acknowledge that there is no GET RICH QUICK plan that works, you can do it. This is not an easy solution, but IT WORKS.

Start saving money.
Start with a little at a time.

Having extra money will make you feel more secure.

Do something on the side to make money.
Mow a few yards--do some handy man work--clean a few houses--sell something door to door part time.

I'm in the same boat, so maybe it's just a matter of luck...or lack thereof
