I live in an apartment buliding in Houston, TX.Cable company says they will charge $60 bucks to fix this.Dish, receiver and all other equipment are owned by cable company.I do not own anything. I am a little frustrated why I should be at the receiving end always. Why should I be paying this repair fee when I do not own anything and even in a case when somebody is trying to mess up my cable.I can once but if that person comes again tomrrow and cut it again, cable compnay will charge me 60 bucks again and this goes on and on.Cable compnay advised me to ask my land lord for refund which he immediately say no to....and in a rude manner saying this does not fall under his responsibility....I just do not know what to do...is ther any claim court where I can take this issue to?

You were the victim of vandalism. Happens every day in every city in the world. Dish isn't going to assume the costs of repairing vandalism, and neither is the landlord, unless it's to his building.

You would be foolish to take this to small claims court, since you won't win.

You're wasting time trying to find someone else to fix your problem for free. It's also too frustrating. The quickest answer is to fix it yourself. I saw another answer from someone who advised tying the wires back together and wrapping with duct tape. that will probably work since duct tape was the primary fix for two space shuttle missions (remember Apollo 13). If you have any tools for such a repair or have a friend who does, ask for some help. It's so easy you could find something equally easy to do for someone who helps. There is a right way to fix this cable instead of duct tape but see if it will work for you and let the stupid cable comapny fix it when the next customer replaces you at that location.

There isn't a problem with the equipment you rent, so you need to pay the cable company.

If you can prove that the landlord cut the cable, then you may have a case. However, small claims court for $60?

I would either A)Fix it yourself or B)Call the "owner" of this cable dish (which is the cable company) and tell them since they are going to charge you, they can cancel your service. Tell them you are going to get a dish through one of their competitors so they can shove their 60.00 - that is what I would do :)

I would just call a competitor and have them install new equipment for free.

all you have to do is strip both cords and you can tie the cable cords to gather and put duck tape around it.DO not pay no $60 its not worth it when you can do it yourself
