It's a very fair verdict, she could have had six months and lashes and a fine, and she only got 15 days and deportation," Boulos said. He added that the verdict would not be appealed.
I copied that from the news article of her sentence. I for one still do not think that is fair, but at least she did not get beat.

She doesn't deserve anything. Of course she doesn't. I agree that the laws of the country should be obeyed. But who in their right mind would wonder if it's ok to call a bear a name that belongs to so many people? It is beyond belief, and is causing a lot of bad feeling. But they don't care about the far-reaching effects of this obviously. Only concerned with looking for abuse that isn't there. Ridiculous.

The problem with handymans answer is that we probably dont even know the whole law in this country let alone a place like the sudan, I have not travelled to a muslim country for years for this reason.

I think this whole thing about Islam and other stuff is getting totally out of hand. What is everyone going to walk on eggshells because some person or persons do not agree with what anyone does or says?

When people emigrate to our own countries, we expect them to adopt the laws of our land and we get angry when they won't do so.
We should expect to comply with the rules of other nations when we visit or work there. Even if we think the law is ridiculous, it is their law, not ours.
In this case of the teacher, I hope they will just point out to her that she did wrong according to their rules and not actually punish her further.

I cannot believe that anyone would even go to that country knowing what those people are like. It is like going to hell and preaching about Jesus Christ.
