I chose the name Leilani Lorene because:
Leilani means heavenly flower.
Lorene means the laurel tree or sweet bay tree symbolic of honor and victory which Lorene was my deceased Grandmother's middle name and my deceased Godmother name (Bernice) means bringer of victory.
Do you like the name Leilani Lorene? Do you think that is a good way to honor and remember both of them?

I think i is lovely that you are honoring your Grandmother and Godmother in the naming of your child.

Leilani is a pretty name and its unique! I like it even more knowing the meaning is heavenly flower. I dont like Lorene with it though, even though its nice to honor a family member, because I dont like that both names start with the same letter (L). Maybe there is another family members name that you could use that sounds better with Leilani. Or use a varient of the name Lorene to still honor her, like another name that ends in -ene, such as Irene or Elene, Alene, Arlene, etc. If not, Leilani Grace, Leilani Rose, Leilani Hope, Leilani Sophia, Leilani Marie, Leilani Elizabeth, Leilani Annabel would all sound pretty. I also like that you could call her Leila, Lani, or LeeLee for short.
I just thought of another idea. Since you want to honor your Grandmother by using the name Lorene, you could use two middle names to break up the two L's a bit, such as
Leilani Anna Lorene or Leilani Ann Lorene.
I love the sound of Leilani Anna Lorene!...I think that is beautiful and flows so beautifully together, but still honors family. It is also nice that Anna means Gracious, so she would be your gracious heavenly flower :)
So my suggestion is to use the 2 middle names and do
Leilani Anna Lorene.. gorgeous!!!!

Absolutely beautiful!! I always said if I had a girl I was gonna name her Leilani but I had all boys! lol anyway I could never think of a good middle name and Lorene is nice. Especially more beautiful when you know the meaning behind it!

Leilani is cute, but I don't like that middle name. I also love Kaylani, it means the sun and the sea in Hawaiin :-)

Absolutely beautiful! I loved Leilani, and my fiancee loved Lexi, so we compromised on Lexani, and we both love it!

i realize that you love those names & that they have great meaning to you...however, i have to say (& i don't mean to insult you in any way), but IMO, the names, said together, remind me of a old Hawaiian ex-prostitute! Sorry!
