Oh it is a true and lucky thing to have. My husband and I have been married for years and years (and years! lol) and everlasting love is a real and tangible thing. If that is not enough for you let me tell you, my love for my children is absolutely endless. It is awesome to love.

I have an Aunt and Uncle who have been married over 60 years. He has always treated her like a dog but she loves him so much she keeps taking it. He now is in the early stages of Alzheimer's and she still is by his side waiting on him hand and foot even though she has had one kidney removed, has heart disease, had a hysterectomy, had to have her carotid arteries cleaned out and has numerous other medical problems she still waits on him all the time. I have never seen him do anything for her in my lifetime. I would say she qualifies for everlasting love if no one else does. She never says an unkind word to him no matter how bad he treats her. She loves him unconditionally.

All things that exist are impermanent and change, your carnal affection for another will change and will end. It may change for the "better" or it may "worsen" and given that all things that arise must cease so to must your carnal attraction for another.
Also if you are given to the idea that we can only be one thing at any time, and that this changes based on factors (some bring the previous thought) then if we love one moment and the next that's fine but 6 hours later when we are brushing our teeth (and thinking about quantum mechanics) then we are no longer "love" until a factor brings that mental formation about again (said factor could be a memory or external factor etc).

everlasting love is someone who loves you forever and I'd like to experience it some day... of course, you could also see everlasting love as the relationship between your parents and you, coz they (should) love you forever or at least til they die
