I've been ttc for 5 years now, if I don't have a regular period, there are less possibilities of pregnancy, so I'm worried now. This is my 4th cycle with only pink discharge instead of a normal period, has this happened to anyone? does anyone know what could cause this or has had any similar experience? Any idea helps, BTW I'm scheduling an appt with my OBGYN as I type (I'm on hold). Thanks for your info.

This could be an indicator of a hormone imbalance such as due to either the thyroid or a particular hormone imbalance called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

Also, sometimes spotting (which I've had something like this before) can be an indication of infection.
