Damn (mental note: Dont hold the door open or say nice things.) I never believed in the "treat em mean, keep em keen" ideology but i guess thats where i've been going wrong.

Because they aren't attached to you but I think some men are like that to everyone especially the important women in their lives. My Dad and my Uncle are my brother is too. I hope to be raising my son to be that way also.

I only see two possible answers.
1. It could be you have the wrong men in your life.

2. It could mean the stranger has no idea what sort of a conniving female you actually are.
#2 assumes you actually are a conniving female and not the typical female; i.e. perfect in every way.
