If that's the case, Christina, why? I'm in the middle, so I get it from both sides...

Yahoo! has the right to delete any question that it wants to delete. Since Yahoo! is a private business, it's under no obligation to behave rationally or fairly. Unfortunately, many of us feel the sting of this on a constant basis.
Excuse me, but the question is whether or not Yahoo! had THE RIGHT to delete. Is the thumbs downer honestly disagreeing with that (thereby claiming that Yahoo! violated a law by deleting)? WTF?

You are certainly right in posting that question both morally and by the TOS (Terms of Service).
But you have to remember that Yahoo! Answers does not have a moderator. Which means noone is supervising this site, and deleting questions.
Questions get deleted if enough people report them. See what I'm saying?
Ever notice why Trolls (People who come on here to post obscene, unrealistic questions to get a rise out of the Y!A community....) questions take hours to get deleted sometime? That's so many people have responded to question.
Anyway, Yahoo! needs an age moderator, because those little 2 year olds are the ones who reported your question.
Another way they did it it because of the words you used could be commonly misused words in questions. They'll delete that too.
And finally, they could have deleted your post because so many other people have posted the same quesion before, search for that question and if there are a lot, there's your problem.
I've had my questions deleted on an old account before too, for no reason.
Oh well, :(.
Have a nice night.

no it's a legitimate question. I personally have never experienced such animosity, & i have every complexion in the rainbow in my family, however, it is something that should be addressed among those that have and feel the animosity. Oh and to the answerer Christina "honey you are so low-budget and low-class" if you think anyone cares about something as irrelevant as how close to white you are your diluted. Go finish high school child and broaden your horizons. When you say things like that it sounds like your asking for forgiveness for being black.

Yahoo! will delete questions that have received two reports from users in "good standing." Unfortunately, this usually means that even non-offensive questions that don't violate any of Yahoo! Answers guidelines will be deleted.
Fortunately, Yahoo! Answers does offer a remedy for this. If a user feels that their question or answer did not violate any Community Guidelines and was wrongly deleted, they can appeal the Violation Notice.

Click the guidelines, and follow the link to read about the Report System.
If you want to appeal the removal, go to the appropriate section of the Forum (link, top right of screen).
Offensive isn't the only criterion for removal of posts. You need to familiarize yourself with the Guidelines.
But, no, I don't see how that particular question violated the guidelines.
Unless you went on in the Additional Details to insult other participants, or something like that. (Which is why you need to read the Guidelines.)

its all in ur question. People react differently bc of their rational thinking and opinions. No one is usually right in this case, its up to how u were taught and raised about this kind of topic and how u view it. to some it can be very offensive and some dont even give a heck becuase it doesnt mean anything to them

I don't see how that question could offend anyone. BTW, I have black friends (light and dark) that hold some animosity toward others. I don't know why this is though. It always seemed weird for me to ask. So, I don't.

The question is not offensive. I didn't even know there was animosity between them. There shouldn't be. It's just wrong. We are all human beings. All the same species.

wth they never delete stupid boards asking which race of women is better when that is CLEARLY made to start a fight, but they will delete a question like that is only trying to get some honest answer. They can be so stupid sometimes.

I'm not sure if it's the yahoo police. If I think a couple say it's offensive, it just gets removed. It should just be placed into an 'possibly offensive' catagory where in your profile when you sign up, you check your preferances and if that is one it wouldn't show up for you specifically. if that made sense

Most people get deleted by breaking the chat and rant violation. If you kept adding additional details then you would have been deleted for that.
See, you're chatting because you keep responding to people. That is a violation of the guidelines and if someone reported you just because they didn't like your question, yahoo would look at the question and delete it for the chat.
They don't care why a person reports you anymore. For example, I could report you because I don't like you or your question. Because I don't have to justify why I'm reporting you, Yahoo would look at the question and delete it because it violates the chat guidelines.
