I was due for my period on the 26th of November. I felt absolutely exhausted for the past 2-3 weeks, sleeping 12-14 hours a day and I just felt different than normal. So with the constant fatigue, I went to my doctor and he did a blood test. Well to my surprise they told me I was a week and a half pregnant. But it was SO close to my period date and that concerned me. So today I woke up to a signifigantly easier "period" than I normally have.

Normally, I'm poppin advil every 4-6 hours to relieve the pain because it's that unbearable, putting heating pads wherever I can, I can't leave the bathroom because I'm nauseous or constantly have to poo, I'm sweating and just overall uncomfortable. Today I feel mildly uncomfortable like a mild backache, VERY light to almost non existant cramping and it's all nothing I can't handle which is VERY unusual for my "period". Is it normal for me to feel something like that and still be pregnant?

Very normal. I got pregnant the week of my period. I barely had one but the cramps were horrible. I slept from the time I got home from work at 4:30 PM to the time I had to get up for work at 6AM for almost two months. I slept all the time. Your body needs that I guess because they say the first few weeks of pregnancy are the most important for development. That is when all the nervous system and internal organs begin to develop. This is Mrs. william c.

even having a "normal" period can happen during pregnancy. There have been cases where women have had their periods all through their pregnancies. I suffered greatly from my periods before I got pregnant. After I had my first child, I had little to no cramping during my periods. I had a regular period after I got pregnant with my second child that caused them to miscalculate my due date. (before the days of ultrasound)

During pregnancy, your body is like an alien life form. It goes through so many changes. It can affect your emotions too. I cried almost constantly during the last 2 months of my second pregnancy.

If you are concerned or the bleeding and cramping get heavier, then by all means contact your doctor.

Yes, this can be very normal. I think it's like, 7 in 10 experience this. I'm trying to concieve, and my husband thinks I'm rediculous because for the past month I've been looking up things and we aren't going to start until September, but I feel alot better about it now. Here are a few links that could help you, and CONGRADULATIONS!!! Some of these websites let you know what kind of cramps and bleedings that may occur. Alot of the bleedings deal with the egg being attatched to the uterous. I'm sorry I didnt give detailed words and stuff after the .coms, but if you search around there you will find GREAT answers.

I hope this will help! Also, I have alot more websites and things that I have created for my husband like, the packing list for the hospital, breast feeding, etc, but since I got most of my info off of these, then I dont think I could be much more help!!! (except that I made print outs and could e-mail you to them. I got bored enough to edit it all in cute script and blue and pink colors. I get so bored...I'm a stay at home wife if that tells you anything...)

You're still pregnant, and your perfectly fine. Since you are so extremely early in your pregnancy, the embryo hadn't even implanted yet when you had your blood work done. Those cramps and the light "period" are from the embryo burrowing into your uterine lining. It usually happens just about the time you would normally get your period.

If your doctor did a blood test...you are pregnant. Those have a very low rate of false results! Call your doctor if you are concerned. Its not abnormal to have spotting or even what seems like a light period in early pregnancy.

There really shouldn't be any spotting if you are pregnant because that could be a sign of miscarriage. I would call your doctor asap and explain your situation to him/her. But on the bright side, I have known a couple women who were pregnant but still had a period so good luck to you and congratulations!!

Well, considering you had a blood test done and it came out positive for pregnancy...I'd be calling my doctor right away about the bleeding!!!!

Also.....get some Tylenol....you should be avoiding Advil while pregnant.

Mild cramping is normal in pregnancy, especially when it's time for your period. My period cramps were so bad I had to get a prescription from my doctor to dull them, but with my pregnancy cramps I'm fine. So it's normal, don't worry. Just enjoy being pregnant now. Congratulations. :)

Congrats if you were trying. You need to switch to tylenol now instead of advil. Its not a "period" when your pregnant. You need to call your doc if your cramping and bleeding.

Yes you can feel that way and still be pregnant. The mild cramping happens because the uterus is growing and stretching out muscles.
