It just so happens that I hold the deed to that particular star...

Maybe we can work out a deal!

Right now, Polaris is very expensive because it is located very near the celestial North Pole (location, location, location).

Wait a few thousand years and it will have move away sufficiently (actually, it is the pole that will have move away from the star) that the name Polaris will no longer apply (It will be back to being Alpha Ursae Minoris -- "star number 1 of the little bear"). It'll be much cheaper then.

I'm sorry, but actually, there is no "Polaris". Santa has a white light laser pointed straight up to guide his reindeer back to the north pole after his Christmas deliveries. All we see is a white dot on the sky.

There are a number of stars for sale on a sidewalk in front of a Chinese restaurant in LA. Maybe you could get one of those?

Just call 800-464-3026. Buy yourself a star for just $19.95. That's right, a big ole ball of fire for just $19.95. Unfortunately Polaris is probably already taken and your deed will be worthless in any event.
