Why, despite the USA being one of the wealthiest coutries in the world, were the impacts so severe?

Because a few hundred years ago, the people that build New Orleans were such idiots, they didn't realize that building a city in a soup bowl would ever be a problem when a hurricane hit.

The problem wasn't the hurricane. The problem was the lazy class welfare people who live there. And the inept clowns running the local and state governments. More of this will continue to happen in our cities. Do you know the stupid federal government passed out checks to those people to fix their homes, and those people grabbed the money for drugs and high living and never did fix the houses? Now they want the working taxpayers to come up with more money to give those lazy idiots for the houses. And they re-elected that goofy Noggan as mayor. Did you notice the town in Kansas that got completely blown away? All rebuilt from scratch with minimal help from the Federal government. The type of people make the difference.

The wealthier section told poor sections to drown. The mayor was radio talk show hoist, thusly mentally weak , morally corrupt and most likely another fing greedy hog. FEMA was turned into inefficient organization staffed by folks dedicated to delivering dollars into connected people pockets. You are going to infrequently have sever natural disaster, but only Bush could have administration that reacted so poorly.

to know what kind rich is usa, for me they are rich at meratreal world, but for me i found them verry poor at heart, in same way some man are real rich, able to look after other suffering and heart of englighted one, simpely rich with leaving is not consider as a rich man or countery. usa leack the true natural peace and enviroment, so far what ever development,inovate result ,still cause to make air more polluted, so is it best idea to live luxeries life by indivadul can led bigest eaffect on natural enviroment, all will eaffect in comming feature,

people there are thieves and stupid ones at that.

lots of federal funds got ripped off by the hands they passed thru, not much left at the end of the line.
