I was in the city all morning and hadn't eaten anything so I went to Subway. I really did not even realize it until after I ate a 6 in. sub with salami, pepperoni, and cheese... But I got it toasted. And after I ate it I started freaking out cause I'm 7 wks pregnant.. Is the baby going to be okay, I did have it toasted but still I dunno I'm scared!!!

The idea about lunch meat is that you expose yourself to the risk of Listeria. If lunch meat is heated to steaming, it will kill any listeria that may be there and therefore dimish any chance of contracting Listeria from the lunch meat.
Since you had it toasted, I wouldn't worry at all.....if it wasn't toasted...I still wouldn't have paniced. I've eaten cold lunch meat a few times while pregnant so far, when I've felt comfortable with where the meat was comming from, like it was fresh and a clean establishment.
Congrats on the baby!!!!

Don't worry. Ur fine. And u can eat cold meats while ur pregnant (just in moderation). Everyone I know ate sandwiches during pregnancy & their babies are just fine. Don't let every little thing freak u out (especially after ur 12th week) b/c it will drive u crazy. Just stay away from raw meats & seafood with too much mercury. Good luck!!! =)

Subway sounds like a superb thank you to bypass when you consider which you will get quite some greens and wheat bread. the sole venture you would be afflicted approximately are the deli meats. Ask them to warmth the meats first. i've got examine in some places which you will possibly desire to avert chilly deli meats. i do no longer submit to in recommendations the rationalization. AND, in case you're yearning it- that's superb to get it or something comparable and greater healthy...or you will in basic terms be unhappy. :)

I wouldn't stress out about it. I stopped eating deli meats when I found out it was bad for me in pregnancy, about 9 weeks along. Just try to avoid them unless you know that they were cooked hot enough. Most recommend steaming or frying the meat before eating. I'm not sure if toasting gets it warm enough but I'm sure it didn't hurt.
One thing you need to know though, someone said that as long as the mother doesn't feel sick then the baby is alright. This is FALSE. The mother can feel fine and never get sick with listeria while the fetus can. It's best to avoid all foods that might be risky.

You CAN eat cold cuts when you are pregnant if they are cooked to steaming. So having it toasted made it perfectly safe to eat.
Don't worry so much. You and baby will be just fine.

Of course you'll be ok and so will your baby! What's wrong with Subway?? I love Subway and have been craving it like crazy. I guess because you've heard about the deli meat theory and all. Well, at my first apt I specifically asked my dr about foods to avoid and all he said was to stay away from raw fish/tuna/sushi type of food. So relax, you will be just fine. If it makes you feel better just stay away from Subway for a while.
Congrats on your pregnancy!

They say not to eat salami why you are pregnant but I'm sure it wont have done you any harm! pepperoni and cheese are fine to eat and as long as your not sick then baby will be OK, they give guidelines on what to eat and what not to, its only to stop you getting food poisoning when pregnant.
I myself ate salami a few weeks ago forgetting that i shouldnt eat it, baby is fine though!

Calm down!! I work at Subway, so I eat it all the time...you're fine! Especially since it was toasted...believe me, they get pretty hot, the oven is 140 degrees. Don't worry, it would have killed any bacteria!

to the people being oblivious, pregnant women are not suppose to eat lunch meats, especially salami. but i have read more about it and its safer when the meat is thoroughly cooked til the bacteria is killed.
