I installed an HD branded coffee holder the other day on my bike. I decided to go to Starbucks afterward so I could test my new drink holder out. I ordered my usual tall Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino Light Blended Coffee with whipped cream before hopping on my Harley for my weekly 4 mile ride. I was sipping my coffee when I started my Hog up. I hit the gas and the coffee spilled all over my face and then the visor snapped shut. The coffee couldn't get out and burned my face. My face got really red and it felt like radiation. I ended up in the ER.

The good news is I am okay. I am wearing protective gauze for the next 10 days.

Has this ever happened to any other HD riders out there? Is Harley Davidson responsible for this? Are there any HD riders that are lawyers who can advise me who else can I go after? Like the coffee holder or helmet maker? Perhaps the company that distributes the cups?

It's your bike's way of saying DO NOT drink a "Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino Light Blended Coffee with whipped cream" while riding a Harley!

Next time, try a regular coffee.....even if you add cream and sugar, it will be much better for your bike's ego than your girl-coffee. Good luck healing!

Only hurts for a second and not nearly as bad a sticking calf skin to the pipe.

I suppose being able to snack or sip on a beverage while riding should only be attempted by real riders.

I take a cup of coffee in cool weather, or a cold drink in the summer( many sport drinks have a nipple cap), also an apple nuts or gum are not uncommon.

Been doing it for decades, I had trouble seeing what is so outrageous about that?

swell story, so many contradictions though, drinking a cofee while riding a bike? rides a harley but orders a latte frapacheeno, in the defense of harley your cup may have been too tall to securely be held in the cup holder.

I think you need to quit dreaming and go ride.

If you had one hand holding the coffee, and the other hand starting the bike, what third hand was engaging the clutch?

Your incessant posts regarding Harleys and coffee are getting tiresome.

Yeah, right.
It was only yesterday you were looking for one.
The tales would be funnier if you could at least keep them straight. The red face should be from embarassment.

You should sue the company that made your gel-padded gloves. They obviously didn't help with the vibration.

why do you have to drink coffee while your riding?
is it that important? shouldn't you be concentrating
on traffic? what if a deer or vehicle comes into your
lane? this sounds very ignorant to me. this is your
fault and you want to sue somebody.give me a break.
