First, pick up a book and start reading it. You probably have only read things people are writing on the Internet, and that is why you are having trouble with spelling and vocab. With the invention of spell check and all the short handed ways to write, people are actually forgetting how to correctly write their thoughts. You can always put your spelling words and vocab words on flash cards, and that way you can always practice when you have time , no matter where you are. Spelling and vocab are measures of your intelligence and it is important that you master these skills if you intend on being a contribution to society.

Get the book "30 days to a more powerful vocabulary".
Get a book that gives you hints on spelling rules. See your English teacher for help.
