That was $8000.00 worth of work, then,......NOW they want an additional $1200.00 to "inject chlorine" into the field?? Am I being ripped off?

Huh? First of all, pump the tank! Two years on a new field makes me suspicious you either have a poorly draining field (somebody fudged the percolation rate to get past the inspection) or you've really been overloading your system! With ours I could not use a dishwasher or garbage disposal...just too much more stuff going into the tank.

Chlorine injection is most often for wells, not septic system, but is related to the system. If the system is too close to the well or is not operating correctly, it will contaminate well water. Hence the well must be cleaned. Chlorine kills microorganisms...some of which do the decomp in the septic tank. So I wouldn't be flushing down chlorine bleach into the septic tank (that's another thing I'd use but discard onto the ground, not into the plumbing. ) Injecting into the soil may be an attempt to kill excess bacteria that flowed into the drainage lines because your holding tank is being overloaded. That's just a guess. I'd be calling other companies and ask they if they've heard of injecting chlorine and then ask them why it is done. You might also contact your County Health department that regulates septic systems....tho they might feel they need to come investigate and you'd be out even more money. Hmmm. Tough call.

Your field line may be stopped up and this is why tank is full. Get someone to pump out tank and see if you can unstop field line. The only thing I have going into my tank is the toilet!
