We usually tell telemarketers "hold on" and then put the phone in a drawer
for a few minutes until they hang up.

i dont have collectors calling my house because i pay my bills but i once told a telemarketer that if he called again i might just buy hs product and them hung up, he must have called back at least 4 times before he figured it out.

I pretend I am going to the bathroom and make grunting noises and if I am buy the sink I drop things into one of the cups or water like I just dropped a deuce. They usually hang up then

I've never had a bill collector call me, but when salesmen call, I always try to sell them my car. They never buy it though. They always get pissed about halfway through and hang up.
I've also used a whistle, when they call, I'll blow it real loud in their ear. They hang up real quick when you do that. :)

Last time one called me, I turned on the speaker phone and the handset at the same time and let the feedback blast their ears out! Other times, they have called when "Judge Judy" was on and I let them listen to that.

my son usually takes those calls. He'll start talking about how he likes cows, and asks the caller if he likes chocolate milk. By then they hang up.
Works with telemarketers too!
