~~~ Fleas. Why are they here? What is their purpose of existence other than to irritate and/or harm their hosts [our pets]? Why are they so hard to kill? Have you ever tried to smash one with your fingers? The little devils pop right back to life. Those awful blood suckers could probably live through a nuclear bomb.~~~

That's an easy one: WOMEN! And I say this with all respect and seriousness. Life and its meaning presents us with many mysteries, but the inner workings of the female mind are far-and-away the most confounding. Perhaps, in all fairness, you women feel the same way about the thought-processes of us men. Although I do think you would agree that, generally speaking, men are much simpler creatures to understand.

Blind faith, which seems to be a requisite of religion. We learn not to believe in fairies but are expected to believe in some obscure supernatural deities most of whom declare themselves to be omnipotent. If any one of them was there would be no other gods. Far better if mankind could see the virtue of being good without the threat of eternal damnation. This would mean the end of religious wars which have plagued mankind and hopefully we could deal with issues like world population without the interference of religious fundamentalists. Of course this just a utopian dream.

On a lighter note...I will never understand what happens to socks that disappear while in the washing machine. Are there little gremlins that steal them??? Be honest...how many "widow" socks do you have?
