WOW...could you imagine Brawn and Alonso. This would be incredible. I remember when Brawn took over another strugglin team with a two time world champion. I think it worked out pretty good for both of them didnt it?

Since the 2008 car was'nt designed or had some kind of input from Ross Brawn I would have to say that the Honda's will be where they were this year.

But with Alonso being an experienced driver for the top teams of the last 3 years. He can bring alot of technical input to the shape and development of the car. I am pretty sure he is more then willing to hand any team the will drive for the developments of this years McLaren. Which will help Honda geratly.

I really hope he stays for more then a year at any team he goes to. I can't imagine any team would spend so much to pay and market Alonso for the teams benefit without thinking to get a return on investment for more then one year. Then again Sauber hired Villenuve for more then a year and they seem to not get what they put into him.

Honda will do well (i hope).
I know Ross Brawn has only been there a short time and will not have much influence on 2008 car.
But Honda did find out the reason the car was designed wrong just after mid season, its wind tunnels were calibrated wrong.
If Alonso goes to Honda he will have the same problems he had at Mclaren.
Whinging when a team mate beats him.
I also can,t believe Honda want to sign him, because it will be only for a year, as i am sure he has signed a letter of intent to join Ferrari in 2009

He will do well. That is my prediction. I think Honda got sidetracked. They were okay in '06, even Jenson Button won a race. For the record I don't think highly of Button. I think Alonso should partner Barrichello, a proven and loyal No. 2.

Brawn is a technical guy and Alonso is probably the most technical driver in F1. It looks like a great combination. I don't think it's a coincidence that Brawn and Alonso (especially) have had fast and reliable cars. Alonso is great at testing and development work.

They should hire Alonso, boot out Button and give Alonso No. 1 status. For all the work that he'll do on improving a lemon of a car, he deserves No. 1. There's no point in having two No. 1 drivers anyway. It makes more sense to back one car.

If I was in his position, I'd want to go to Honda now that they have got Ross Brawn on board. He may not win in his first year with them but Honda can only get better. By the end of the year they may be snapping at the heels of BMW and maybe springing the odd podium finish here and there. I think it's a better move than going Renault in the long run. Remember, everybody baulked at the idea of M. Schumacher signing for Ferrari..

I wish he'd hurry up and make his mind up though, it's dragging on a bit now. Alonso says he is in no hurry to decide where he goes in '08, and yet so much is resting on his decision. Similarly, Ron Dennis says he's in no hurry to announce the second driver at McLaren. For crying out loud! Get a shift on boys!! The suspense is killing me, It's like the false suspense they add on reality TV shows when the announce a winner or loser.

With Alonso at the controls, Honda might finish ahead of Super Aguri!

I think he will return to Renault. One, he won both his titles there and he was very successful (I didn't understand why he wanted to leave. There was a speculation that maybe he went to McLaren for a bigger paycheck).

Secondly, they want him back. He definitely wouldn't be staying with McLaren after all that he's been through this year. And Honda has been very mediocre this year. If Alonso was smart, he wouldn't join them because he would want to challenge for the title next year. Logically, Alonso should go back to Renault and start over.

This is bullcrap. Alonso knows that even if renault are fined 100mil, they would still be years ahead of honda. Has anyone else forgotten the source of this info, Bild magazine or whatever the hell they are called also made those fake reports after the brazilian gp claiming lewis admitted to accidentally resetting the car.. Those guys need to get proper jobs..

Is he looking for trouble? Or is he honestly bonkers? Now Ross there plays a certain charm to it I know. But even IF Ross can turn Honda around, it won't be next year! And I am sure he wants the Ferrari seat. Well here comes a challenge: performing well in a Honda.

Wait.
OMG how bout Rubens? To SA? Now that's...cruel. So much for a "contract."

Maybe Honda was the only team willing to give him a one year deal.
