One of our cats was sitting on a stool and I walked between her and the TV and said "Excuse me"....and my husband thought that was funny....I thought it was the polite thing to do.....she may have been watching the Weather Channel.....
Peace.

Nahhh ... actually I just kick them across the room.

I'M KIDDING ... JUST KIDDING! No hate mail please! Just thought I'd take some heat off of you for the cow tipping question GEM! LOL Don't ya just love it when someone opens their email JUST to rip on ya then closes it because they're too CHICKEN to take back what they've dished out?? Punks!

Anyhow, I love my kitties very much the only problem is I'm so tall and they get right under my feet and I can't see them. Grrrr! Drives me batty! Half the time I almost break some body part trying to avoid squashing them half to death!

I do love it, however, when people say "excuse me" to inanimate objects. In college I had a professor who would say excuse me to her desk and the overhead projector. We'd all try so hard not to just start laughing hysterically because it was so nonchalant and she never acknowledged that she did that!

Weird!

Peace and pardons to you!

u r precisely correct. i say excuse me to all living things. pets have feelings too!! my son's dog throws a fit if u turn the tv without asking him if he minds first. we never get an answer but if we ask before we turn the tv he never growls.

I say it to both my snakes and lizards, but only because they are lazy and I'm being sarcastic. Usually one of the lizards ends up whipping me with a tail, for being facetious.

I sometimes talk to my pets like they are people... a lot of times with insulting words, but in a positive tone... like ♫ "Oo, you are such a dumb animal, aren't you? Yes... you have a very small brain, don't you, yes..." ♪... all the while petting them... just for fun.
