They say at 9 weeks they can tell these days. But most of the time they wait until 20 weeks. That is when the can tell the earliest with the best result.

They can tell by ultra sound at 14 weeks. However, you have to have connections with someone to get an ultra sound that early. Most people don't find out until their 20 week ultra sound. The purpose of the 20 week ultra sound is to do an anatomy check, make sure the kidneys, heart and brain are all growing correctly. Finding out the sex is a bonus, not the purpose of that ultra-sound. Thats why most people don't find out until then.
We have a good friend who is a sono-tech, so we found out at 15 weeks.

My doc told me I could schedule that ultrasound anytime between 18 and 20 weeks. :)
I do believe if you have the 3D done, since it's so much more detailed, that you could possibly find out between 16-18 weeks. The baby's reproductive organs aren't visible until 14 weeks, and aren't FULLY developed and able to be seen on ultrasound until about 16 weeks.

My husband and I opted to find out on Valentines day. I will be 20 weeks & 2 days, so hopefully our little one will cooperate!

You may have an ultrasound between 18 to 26 weeks to determine the gender of your baby.

this will depend on two things, the expertise of the sonographer and the quality of the ultrasound. If you go with a 3d/4d you can know a bit sooner.

I would say at the lower end its about 15 weeks and the upper end is about 22 weeks.

between 16 and 20 weeks is when they check. Most doctors wait until 20 weeks.

Sonogram around the 20 week mark (if they give it early then I think by week 16 you can tell)

Amnio - Pretty early because the test the chromosomes then and those are set at the beginning.

According to my Doctor here in Germany, he could tell at 16 weeks but they can't be certain until 18 weeks.
