All depends on usage, if your starting a tree cutting business you might want something more commercial, but for the average home owner a small electric one is perfect. Then again if you own a fireplace and you plan on cutting and splitting a lot of your own wood, you may want to step up to a 2 stroke oil and gas mix style

I have had no problem with the 3 I have owned. two were bought used and continued to run for years. I now have an 18" and love it.

sure they are very good and dependable
get gas. electric does not have the kick
