Rush is popular for a very simple reason. He informs us about the conservative viewpoint that is so badly missing from the liberal mainstream media. And he does it in an entertaining way that's both humerous and upbeat.
It's really just that simple.
You guys are just jealous because every attempt at liberal talk radio has failed so badly. Why? Because those who do talk radio must spend several hours a day defending their ideas intellectually. Libs just can't do that. Besides which, who wants to hear hours of doom and gloom each day on the radio. That's what libs do. Kind of depressing.

He does phrase his arguments in a somewhat intelligent manner... A lot of it is pretty garbage though. I have to say though, I was somewhat impressed with the way he handled the Harry Reid letter. He really turned that lemon into some lemonade.

Rush Limbaugh is a very eloquent speaker, he makes a very strong point every time he speaks publicly. While I may not agree with his views entirely, he presents them VERY well. (Unlike Bush, who fumbles his speeches constantly.)
Liberals tend to embrace controversial or unproven facts as if they where the one true fact, they inflate numbers and assume too much about the way people view them. If you don't agree with them completely and wholly, your the "enemy". They will paint every soldier in uniform as a "baby-killer", even if that soldier did a great job and never had to shoot anyone. They will burn down a automobile dealership to protest gas-guzzlers.
Don't get me wrong, the "right" has their nut cases too, such as the abortion protesters, who do despicably things to girls that are already having the toughest time in their lives.
Rush Limbaugh, and commentators like him, are popular because they say what some people are thinking, and they say it well.

Why do you pay attention to him? i'm a conservative (Libertarian) and that i've got in no way listened to hurry. From what i've got seen on YA, extra lefties pay attention to him by using some distance. And WTF are you talking approximately "marketing campaign" for? Do you *surely* think of we are able to sit down down and have rational, real looking discussions with rabid enthusiasts who think of *not something* of utilising little ones to grant a bomb? Who think of that is accpetable to behead women human beings? Or throw acid on them? i don't think of you may. Frankly, i don't *prefer* to, the two. "We sit down back and enable genocide 'ensue'" - the place the hell is the UN? isn't it *their* interest to intervene? They surely have *no* difficulty busting our chops if we get "out of line" yet what genuine use do they serve? a collection of over-paid morons sitting around, wringing their hands and having communicate after communicate, mutually as harmless anybody is slaughtered. the two make those idiots *earn* their keep, or boot 'em the hell in a foreign places usa. And why does anybody seem to *us* to step in, then gets madder than hell as quickly as we do?

Rush is a demagogue, easy answers to difficult issues that appeal because they are simple to understand. He binds his listeners together by being opposed to a group villified nearly non stop, the dreaded liberal, of course, and by being overtly "patriotic" about Republican only military decisions. Rush is scary and demeaning to a democracy.

Basically because he blames liberals for everything.
If the facts don't fall his way, it's because of the "liberal media", the activist judges, the revisionist historians, the communist professors, the liberal universities, the marxist teachers, the liberal census, and now even the "liberal scientists."
You ask cons why most scientists support man made global warming and they will tell you its because they are socialists who are purposely lying in order to destroy capitalism.
Everything is a liberal conspiracy to them.
