yes because it has never hurt anyone directly there is no HUMANLY possible way to overdose on weed. Weed has no physicaly addictive properties wich is just the opposite with ciggarettes and other harder drugs. Also if weed were legalized the USDA and FDA would have to see over it if it were to be sold in convienence stores therefore the weed could not be laced with harder drugs and therefore would now be safer.

also weed is not a gateway drug automaticaly it is one by choice if a person wants to try harder drugs they will start off iwth weed.

but basicaly who does weed hurt???

exspecially compared to cigarettes and Alchol

I don't think the goverment should legalize marijuana for the fact is they will tax the **** out of it. It should not be up to goverment to do this. It should be up to the states them selves to legalize it. Tell me something, how many times have you heard of someone dying from using marijuana i heard of nobody dying from. The PEOPLE who talks about the bad aspects of using, probl ey never used it in there whole goddamn life. All you ever hear about people dying drinking and driving. The goddamn goverment wants to control ever thing, I think it's about time to get these OLD FARTS out of office and put new youger people in there it's time for a change. If a high profile leaves his office, let say a federal judge leaving his chambers to go to the club for a high balls and then getting into his car driving home to him that take the stress off his bad day at work. me i like to come home kick the shoes off sit back and enjoy a joint what's diffence, the diffrence is that i'm home not putting anybody life in harm, where as the judge had a few high balls, legally he's impaired to drive home putting his life and someone else life in jepordy, You see i gave up driking ten years ago because i had d.w.i first and last. so i ENJOY SMOKING MARIJUANA any ?'s

First let's look at where the substance is classified, a sched 1 drug with no medical use...right along with heroin...thats the first issue. If Pot has no medical use then why did another federal agency (FDA) approve Marrinol as safe and effective. Marrinol is a man made THC medication. The other issue is deaths associated with pot use...according to a study done by the Mayo Clinic, overdoses of pot are few and far between. There are many myths about pot such as it causes one to become lazy. It is however a fact that any substance used above moderation can become a problem however it simply does not make sense to continue the prohibition of Pot. Tax it and regulate it's sale to adults with the same restrictions on driving as it has with alcohol.

Yes, allowing adults to possess small amounts would cause no harm. It would also take a lot of money from street gang and drug cartels coffers too. Marijuana was legal up until 1937 but thanks to the bigotry and narrow mindedness of Harry J. Anslinger the FDR administration outlawed it.

Alaska allowed people to possess up to a quarter pound up until the 1980's but do the pressure from the Regan administration they finally banned it.

Alaska by the way has a major problem with alcoholism but they never had problems with pot.

I don't think they should have criminalized it in the first place.

But I don't believe they will legalize it.

The fact is that it is so easy to grow that they will have no control over it, and thus no ability to tax it. This would cut deeply into their revenues from alcohol.

Personally, I consider the criminalization of marijuana to be an assault on the liberties and freedoms that were my birthright under the Constitution.

[p.s. I don't care for the stuff, wouldn't smoke it if it was legal]

I truthfully don't know how it is any different then drinking beer. Of course same laws should hold true, no driving while high, etc. I don't think people should smoke while doing important things where impaired judgement could hurt someone or something, but there will always be people who don't listen to the law, however some people drink when they shouldn't also, so what's the difference....I personally don't smoke anything anymore, I had to grow up. I barely drink, maybe 5 drinks a yr. i wouldn't want to do anything to hurt my life now I wouldn't want to chance ending up in jail.

Decriminalized. Legalization would be too complicated legally speaking. There are jobs like pilots that nobody would like them using it. By making it legal it will give the right for everyone to use it; by decriminalizing you can still test pilots and other critical jobs and if tested positive they could be fired but not jailed. You can't fired someone for doing something that is legal. I know it could be just like they get tested for alcohol now but that's just an example of how complicated would be legally.

i don't know if it should be legal what people don't realize about it is that it doesn't effect you now... but if you do it for yrs. it will mess you up you will forget things and you will not have sex drive and other stuff too. i live with someone who had done pot for alot of yrs and this is what he is suffering from.. so don't think it doesn't hurt you just because you don't see the effects rite away..... what i do believe though is that alcohol should be illegal.. it causes way more problems then pot ever has...

If its illegal it has a bigger draw on abuse or regular use. If its legalized it will benefit the disproportionate amount of minorities being placed in jail for possesing it rather than the white coke heads who waltz in and out of jail with the help of lawyers.

Absolutely. As a conservative, I feel it is none of the government's business what Bob does on his own, provided he doesn't harm others. Prohibition of marijuana has not stopped people from using it any more than the prohibition of alcohol stopped people from drinking.
