in most cases yes, because you increase the hormone levels in your body and it can affect your weight. In some rare cases, some women might lose weight, but that is in very very rare cases.

It can have that effect on some women. If you take a kind with progesterine it can cause weight gain since it works by tricking your body into thinking you are already pregnant. I personally don't like any hormonal birth control because it works in a way I don't like. If you want to know why just look up the info on it about how it works and you will see that the last way it works is by preventing an already fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine lining...may or may not bother you.(bothers me.)

Some of the side effects of bc pills are gain in weight. But if your obgyn prescribes the best bc pill according to your body and family history; you are not supposed to gain any weight, unless the hormonal charge contained in the pill was not right for you.

You might expect side effects for the first three months when taking your bc pill, but no more.
That is why it is very important you go to your doctor he can precribe the best bc pills for you.

Some women gain weight on birth control when they were wrong prescribed and I´ve read they all took months to lose all that weight, so consult your doctor he will give you the best bc pill for you.

Good luck! ;D

It depends on the female. I have read a few articles where they say it does NOT cause weight gain. It personally didn't for me but I did gain a cup size.
