I haven't found the source for this one but considering the press over the past few years this may just be correct.

What group do these people belong to?
In the last year ---
36 have been accused of spousal abuse.
7 have been arrested for fraud.
19 have been accused of writing bad checks.
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses.
3 have done time for assault.
71, repeat 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit.
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges.
8 have been arrested for shoplifting.
21 currently are defendants in lawsuits.
And 84 have been arrested for drunk driving.

Can you guess which organization this is? NBA, NFL, WWF?
No they are not members of these groups.
It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.

The same group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

It's not just Democrats or Republicans-- It's both of them!

They should be drummed out of Congress and their party. Andthe sad part is they will probably be re-elected. What's wrong with this picture?

Isn't this sad?

It seems to me that we need to get rid of them.

These people exempt themselves from the laws that they make for us, so even if they are convicted of something, they are not subject to the forfeiture laws that the rest of us are, they have lifetime benefits, they get paid for the rest of their lives, they don't have to depend on Social Security.

I think that we need term limits, we need maximum amounts of time anyone can spend in congress, even if the same guy gets elected to both houses, we need to gauge their salaries to the median income of the state they are from, and we need to finance campaigns, so that everyman, or woman has a reasonable chance of getting elected to Congress.

It would be nice if we could bring some honor and dignity back to public service.

Why am I not surprised... I should be.. I should be outraged.. and yet... I guess the answer before I read it.

Aren't we lucky to have these people deciding our futures. Time to clean house and throw the whole works in the garbage.

And I was hoping to give you the answer.

But yep This is our elite, our elected officials who we allow to make the laws and rules that we must live by.

Well, what can I say to that. Only that we need to pray for our political leaders, everyday.
