I know I dont allow anyone to tell me what to do with my hard-earned money. If they earn it themselves, then maybe I will start listening to them on how to spend it. But as long as I continue to earn it myself, I think that I will continue to spend it as I see fit.

My EX (from a short disaster of a marriage -- he was an abusive, violent sociopath) did what he could to TRY to make sure I NEVER had anything again ...
HOWEVER ....
Once the Divorce was finalized, and I PAID to get out of the horror of a marriage (yes, a LOT of money and other things to WALK away with my LIFE and my Childrens' LIVES)
Although he has tried many times to continue to TRY to get $$$ from me over the past couple of decades (and stolen my identity, burglarized my home/office/car, stolen/damaged my property, tried to sue me for more $$$ AFTER Divorce multiple times, etc) ... (and burglarized my HOME once again in August 2006) ... (he somehow still believes I "owe" him a living) ...
I continued to EARN the INCOME ... spent it in RAISING my CHILDREN to Adulthood (did it all myself -- he never did follow the decree) ...
PAID my OWN BILLS, purchased what my children needed ...
AND NOW .. as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ...
I am ENJOYING the HOME that MY Hard Work EARNED for me, the Things in my HOME, and yes, my LIFE because I EARNED that income and can do the things I WANT to now (since there is no one else hanging on to me at this time!)
Bills first, make sure that some goes to savings, and then .. FUN (which for me, is going BACK to College once again -- to stay active in Mind, Body, and Spirit!)

Yes.
Because i spend it on ridiculous things i have to listen to my friends.
I once almost bought a boat, which would be cool if i lived anywhere near water....

I don't let people but sometimes they do.
Like for example my mom made me use my earned money to buy Christmas presents for people. I was soo mad

nope I think if you earn it you have every right to do what you want with it.
Thats why I hate when people want celebrities to donate more, its like hey its THEIR money.....
