During this month I have had 5 dreams with my deceased father in them. He's never ever come into my dreams before and this month he randomly did 5 times. I know it's called "dream visitation", but is it really him? Is it him or his spirit? Or is it me just simply dreaming/thinking of him without realizing it?

Whether it's really him or not is a matter of faith. Dreaming of your father is not unusual at all, especially if the first dream was significant to you which probably led to further dreams. So, no paranormal explanation is necessary. But if you choose to believe it was his spirit, then that's your belief.

I have been visited by deceased family and close friends in my dreams. My Grandmother , grandfather, mother in law, father in law, a very close neighbor and my dearly missed friend. I've only had one dream for each person, but when they came to visit me they were all very healthy and happy looking. I agree with the answer from Dutchess, I am a huge fan of Sylvia Brown!

It's hard to say. It could really be your father visiting you in your dreams, or it may be that your psyche is using your knowldge of him to get a point across to you, but has no other way of doing it. I think only you can make the distinction. Since you say that the two of you ae doing things you might not have done while he was alive, it may be that your psyche is using your memories of your father to teach you something. For example, if the dream has to do with someone who may be a fatherly figure to you now, or an authoritative figure, your mind may use your father to get the point across, even though it doesn't really mean your father, rather it's using him to represent the characteristics you associate with your father.

hi, first im going to tell you something from experience... ....when people pass away, the easist way for them to communicate with you is through your dreams... and if they are coming to you via the dream, specially repeatedly they usually have a message for you....
BUT then sometimes you could be dreaming of a person because you have been thinking of them alot... you should keep notes of when ever you dream of your father and write down what happens in your dreams......
i only usually answer questions that ive had personal experiences with....
now how do i know that passed over people communicate to us through our dreams and i know they werent just dreams.....
for one example... a close friend died this past june, a couple of weeks later he came to me through a dream but didnt really speak instead he was showing me something... he had buried some money in his back yard right up the back along the fence....for another couple of weeks i pondered over this was it real or just a dream, i kept getting strong urges to go there before someone else moved in....so i decided to take his message seriously and i went there...when i got there straight away i saw he had bath tubs lined up along the fence, full of dirt where he grew his vegies and what ever... and sure enough i found the spot where it was slightly bare and the dirt a little softer than the rest, i dug down a bit and there was the money, it wasnt much......
i became so excited not because of the money but for the fact that he really did come into my dream to pass me that message....
when things like that happen and any thing to do with spiritual activity, we should always take notice, we then become our own best teachers, we dont need to rely on others theories....
if i had never gone there to check it out, then i would never of known... or if there was no money there, then i could say
"well it was just a dream"....
many people have been given messages through their dreams..... i can safely say that it is possible that your father is coming to you, for what ever reason......
i dont know how one can say that "the dead can not visit you in your dreams and sorry to say it is just a dream" thats a pretty big statement of the unknown.......

From all the evidence of other people's experiences..I tend to believe that either spirits can do this after the death of their body...OR...there are other spiritual "things" that pretend to be them to fool or confuse or hurt us. IDK. And , I don't know whether to believe Sylvia B. or not. If she's for real..then I wish she and Montel would bring back people with testimonies showing /proving that she was right. I'm not a skeptic...I guess I'm a "critical thinker".I try to discern what the truth is.

I am of the opinion that people who pass away are deceased. I have seen no reason to believe otherwise.

You will see many people who are not comfortable with the finality of death, so they create elaborate belief systems that allow for people to live after dying.

I encourage you to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable. However, if you choose to the route of magic thinking you must realize why you are choosing that route.

EDIT: Sylvia Browne is a parasitic and criminal fraud.

It is more than likely you just thinking about him. I do believe ghosts can visit us in dreams but only we can decide which are just dreams and which are communication.

I am sorry to say, it is just dreams. You probably have been thinking about him lately which could influence your dreams.
The dead can not visit you in your dreams. If anyone tries to tell you they can, they are either selling you a line, or have been sold a line themselves and dont realize it.
When someone misses someone, they often experience things that remind them of that person. This does not mean the persons spirit is trying to contact you, its just human nature.

edit: For the record, Sylvia Browne has been proven to be a fraud. She just makes crap up.

If you keep getting visited, he may have something for you to learn or know. Ask him if he has something to tell you.
