I have always found this difficult to understand, but i asked my science teacher and she gave me this clear explanation:
A clone is a group of cells or organisms that are genetically identical as a result of asexual reproduction.

Hope this helps =]

If you are speaking of human cloning, it is an exact biological copy of the genetic donor, the person being cloned. Now, beyond that we simply cannot say if the clone actually becomes the person being cloned. As far as we know, no human being has been cloned, so they tell us. As such, we don't have any real imperical data to determine anything beyond that. With regards to Titubeta's claims about the nature of a "true" human clone, that argument is based upon nothing but assumptions. No real data to support the argument. However, if you look at human twin studies, even those separated at birth and raised in significantly different environments by completely different parents, they show "remarkable" commonality in appearance and in behavior mannerisms, even to the point of completing each others statements before completed. Studies demonstrate great, great commonalities in person between twins. Now, these are just mere human twin clones. Given that, what can we expect from "true" human clones. There is indeed a difference between their embryogenesis. I believe that the evidence suggest that as the clone person matures, there will be a point in time that individual will be one and the same as the person cloned, the genomic donor. The two will become as one. The only difference will be one of age alone.

There are quantum laws in physics that describe aspects of biology, consciousness, and nature which suggest that human consciousness is not (local) restricted to just one place or body but can be in two or more places (non-local) at the same time. It's called "entanglement" physics. Also, quantum physics allows for a holographic aspect of life, reality, and even the universe.

There was a time in which everyone was certain that the sun rotated about the earth. Their belief was based upon nothing more than commonsense assumptions --- they were wrong. So are those that believe that a true human clone would be nothing more than a delayed twin, in my opinion.

A clone is genetically an exact replica. A clone has all the same genes and the genes are all expressed in the exact same way. Cloning naturally occurs during asexual reproduction and can be very useful when one is trying to keep a gene that specialize something for a niche. Cloning also occurs in nature with identical twins and plant cuttings. Recently humans have been experimenting with cloning in a laboratory, the process occurs when the nucleus of animal is inserted into an unfertilized egg which has had its nucleus destroyed using inferred light. The egg is then reinserted in the womb to develop. The first mammal to be cloned was a sheep named dolly. It took 276 attempts to successfully clone her, but she has produced several offspring naturally and has proved to be a viable clone. Since this time many other labs have successfully cloned animals such as cows, sheep, and pigs.

The defining characteristic of a clone is that it is an exact genetic duplicate of the original organism. Identical twins are clones, as are plants that are produced from leaf cuttings. Clones have to be produced asexually because all sexual reproduction produces offspring that are genetically different from the two parents.

A Person who looks exactly like you in appearance and genetics but his behavior, thinking, style, mindset, likings, preferences may be totally different from you and if he is brought up at a different location the only thing you would find similar with him is your face and body!. Remember similar faces doesnt mean similar people. E.g. twins doesnt mean people with similar behavior!
