My son weighs 18 lbs (almost 6 months old) is going to outgrow his infant carrier at 22 lbs.
I am interested in Britax because of their safety features and with my Christmas bonus coming money is not an issue.
I am looking into Britax's convertible seats and I'm not sure but I'm leaning towards the Boulevard.
Anyone have any experience with this one? I am installing it in a Jeep Liberty.

We have 2 Marathons for our daughter. They are wonderful. She was able to rearface in them (the safest way for all passengers) until she was 2 years and 9 months and 32lbs. She is now forward facing and will be harnessed until she outgrows the seat.

Comparisons from a carseat tech on Baby Bargains:

The marathon, decathlon, and boulevard are all 5-65 pound convertible seats.

The marathon is the first and most basic. It features 4 harness heights, double straps anchor attachments with bars (instead of using the belt path). It can be tethered rear facing and used rear facing from 5-33 pounds and forward facing from 20-65 AND over a year old.

The decathlon features additional infant padding that makes this a very plush seat and very supportive for newborns. It use a single anchor strap routed through the belt path. It has 3 different crotch strap settings and 4 harness heights. It can be tethered rear facing and used rear facing for 5-33 pounds and forward facing 20-65 pounds AND over a year old.

The boulevard also has additional padding for infants, as well as side 'wings' marketed br Britax as "True Side Impact Protection." These EPS lined wings help to contain the child's head in a side impact crash. The harness on this seat is adjusted with a knob and can be adjusted 1/16 of an inch at a time, allowing for a perfect fit every time. It has double anchors straps that are hooked to bars and not routed through the belt path. It rear faces from 5-33 pounds and forward faces from 20-65 pounds AND over a year old. It can also be tethered rear facing.

I love my Fisher Price Safe Voyage convertible car seat. This seat is made by Britax and costs about half the price. The seat can hold your child up to 55 pounds and can go in the rear facing or forward facing position. Another brand of car seat that is really nice is called the Sunshine Kids Radian 65 or Radian 80. Unlike the Britax, Sunshine Kids have side impact protection, they are less expensive then Britax. If you go to www.kyledavidmiller.org and buy a Sunshine Kids car seat from there website, all the proceeds from the car seat go to buying car seats for folks that cannot afford new car seats.

If I had to choose again I would pick the Sunshine Kids car seat.

I LOVE my Britax! I have a Marathon for my quiet large 2 1/2 year old. He is 43in tall and 45lbs, so he's outgrown most other carseats. We decided to invest in the Marathon after I got in an accident last winter, the idea that my son would soon have to go into a belt positioning booster scared me! I have turned into a bit of a car seat snob since then. LOL Our youngest is 11 months old and we got him the Fisher Price Safe Voyage Deluxe. It is essentially the same as the Marathon, but a fraction of the price. It is still manufactured by Britax.

I LOVE the britax line. I own a companion myself and am also looking to purchase the next size up!
My only suggestion is: with car sizes.. as you know britax seats are bigger than the typical carseat which makes some of them difficult to fit into vehicles (smaller ones) I dont know much about the fit of a jeep liberty since Ive never been in one, but I would go to a store that sells britax (if you have one around you) and have them let you try it in the car to see if it fits alright. (certain places will let you do that.)
A friend of mine has a boulevard for each of her boys and she and the boys LOVE the seats. (her boys are 4 or 5)

I went with the Marathon because of it going up to 65 lbs-I have a son who is 11 months, and 25 lbs. I was told that the Boulevard is the same as the Marathon with the exception of the extra part for newborns-that comes out. So, you might want to go with the Marathon to save a few bucks for something you wouldn't need.

I love Britax carseats. I had the Roundabout when my daughter was little, and we have the Parkway now. It looks like the Boulevard would be a great choice.
