I have the original one on tape and i watch it every chance i get and now my husband hid the tape till after christmas... It is my all time favorite movie and i absolutely love it...

At the moment, i like the Johnny Depp one as i have yet to watch the original one. Maybe the original one could be nice looking at others' comments. I am trying to get hold of the original version.

I'm 23 years old and I still get excited when they show that ads that it is going to be on TV! Absolutely love that movie. The original is the best. Gene Wilder kicks Johnny Depps *** as Wonker (even if johnny was closer to the book)

As a child the Gene Wilder version of the movie used to always be on. I was so excited that a movie like that existed, and it made me so happy to just believe in things like that. The Johnny Depp one was different, but I think it was just an update to make it better. I personally love the first one, because it gives you a more in-depth look on things. Both give you more than that other, but I loved the first one. I was always so excited when it came on TV that I just got in a better mood.

the original one with Gene Wilder was the best! I like Johnny Depp, but the re-make was horrible! I was really hoping for something better, but Tim Burton (director) made many changes that DIDN'T come from the original book by Roald Dahl. That makes me angry when filmmakers go so far from the original story.

Original all the way. The second one was neat, but the story was a little whack.
Willy Wonka is right up there w/ the Sound of Music in terms of timelessness, kids (and adults) will be watching it forever.

I like them both.
I like the original (although, Roald Dahl hated that movie). It is fun.
I like the new one as well. I am a Tim Burton fan and a Johnny Depp fan. However, for the story, I prefer the original to the new.

Loved it - the original was much better than the Johnny Depp one.

The old one was kinda dark.. but I still liked it.
The Johnny Depp one is good.. and the ending is better.
