I've talked to people in 3 different countries that say we're being lied to that they don't have to wait and it's great to not worry about it when you need it. Families I know are paying 500-1000 per month for coverage and then have a deductable on top of that. There is no way this is not being controlled by greed and corporate power, we are being robbed! And the people who are insured don't think they can be turned away from being covered for procedures, think again! It happens everyday.

Talk about greed! You want everybody else to pay for your medical care.

Funny because I know people in multiple countries with socialized medicine that say just the opposite. Could it be that it is a matter of perception? I recently had a friend tell me about her friend whose husband support their countries socialized medicine but the wife does not. There values are different. She is willing to pay for services rendered and he was willing to wait for hours for free care. The same family, totally different outlooks. People who value the human spirit, individualism, freedom, independence, and so on will oppose this while those that feel everything is owed to them will support it no matter how bad it may be.
This country (USA) was not founded with the intent that the government was their to provide such things. No one with any honesty can say that the founders or even the overwhelming majority of Americans as late as the 1950s would ever have considered that the country should provide health care. Most people still do value independence btw. Although some cost is due to medicine and such, a lot is do to excessive mandates by the government. Let me buy a policy from any state in the nation and I can get a policy for less than $200/mth for an individual yet in my state it is over $500/mth. It is states and the feds that do that. Also, ridiculous malpractice awards which have caused malpractice insurance to go through the roof. The government underpays providers who then shift the burden to those who pay their own way as well. There are a lot of problems but the government is NOT the answer.
