If you can afford to not place your children with strangers, dont do it! I have stayed at home with my 4 kids for 13 years. (I just got my first job 2 weeks ago) I never left them with anyone other than close friends and family. there are too many crazy people out there that it is scary to leave your kids. Dont worry about what others think you are NOT lazy you just love your kids! Good luck with your new business!

My question is if you sell Avon, don't you have to get out and distribute your books and samples? Besides, they need to shuttie if they aren't paying your bills. Some are never satisfied unless they are poking their beaks into other people's lives because they have none. I think you are just fine if you can support your family they way you are doing it. You are your own boss and do not have to put up with the BS similar to what these folks are giving you. I know it is scary to put your little ones in someone else's care. I nanny and have been here for almost 9 years. Not everyone will love your kids like you do. Fortunately for the ones I take care of, I give them the very best of care, but it isn't always like that for some parents.

I don't leave the house all that much either - I'm a stay at home mom that sells Tupperware! Welcome to small town life! if you like what your doing just tell them that "your family is happy and that's all that should matter"! It shouldn't make any difference what they say as long as YOUR family is happy! Perhaps they are just jealous because you can stay home and still make money! Your doing the right thing! Good luck with your Avon!

First: Forget what other people say! Do they pay your bills? Provide for you? Put a roof over your head? Console your upset children at night? No? Then F*CK 'em all...
As for working at home, if that works out well for you, and you're there when your kids need you, then more power to you! You're not hurting anyone, and you are providing income to take care of your family.
Let the small-minded "work nazis" in your town chatter all they want...

No..you're doing the right thing. Young children need their mothers. Strangers will never treat them and take care of them like a mother would. I've worked in day care centers, believe me, I know. Also, a child's personality is formed in it's first five years. You should be there to help form it. Stay at home moms are grossly underrated. I think staying at home and trying to raise your children properly is much more important than dumping them off to strangers to pursue a career. The whole family unit has greatly disintegrated since women started working.

You should do what you think is best for you and your children. I understand your concern...I wouldn't want to leave my children with people I didn't know... I think you are the exact opposite of lazy raising children and starting your own business is a LOT...good luck to you and hope you can find someone soon that you can trust with your kids because you don't want to burn yourself out with all that you have on your plate.

Lazy! you are working two jobs that's not even close to being lazy. You are doing the right thing.
But eventually you are going to have to get out to meet people in town and promote your products.

Working at home is great and more flexible, especially if you have kids. But, if that doesn't pay you good and you have to go out, you have to trust someone and you can do that by asking that person for references from other parents. It should not be as bigger problem as you may think. If you have make good money at home....forget about other things, as no one can take care of yoru children better than you...
