I can't tell you how to measure your stress. However! My number one clients I visit , is due to their need for stress releif.
I see every degree of stress. I give reflexology inhome sessions.
My clients first I have them to lie down either with soft background music or no sound. Take 3 deep breaths and let it out slowly, I'm talking 0ver 5 seconds. This will set you up to relax. Relax that stress your holding on to.
I would tell you to think about being in a dark room, once your having that feeling next think about the room being empty. If you can get yourself this relaxed you will drift off to sleep a relaxing sleep. As crazy as this sounds try it! or if you can afford it go and have a reflexology session or have someone come to your home. Takes an hour. Make sure the person doing the reflexology knows the central nervous system well.
Good Luck and remember we all must learn how to control our stress for our wellness is everything, no matter what our age.

New ideas? well I just look at my palms.. if there are lots of red and white splotches I know my blood pressure is up, most likely due to stress... other possibilities? What about eye movements or dilations? I don't know if you can that way or not.. but it's a thought. Also what about magnetic fields? The body is an engine..and as such we all naturally give off a magnetic field... does this field change with stress? I don't know.. but it would be interesting to find out.

You could take blood tests of relaxed people and blood tests of stressed people and test the hormones or something in a scientific laboratory. But I guess you don't have such resources. Actually I would suggest mesuring the heart rate would be a more simple way.

in my case the level of tress
1. It is hard but I can do it
2. Start sinking but still with a smile
3. Sinking and shouting that I overloaded
4. Apathy to everything and anger to any request for attention from anybody
Extra: triedness, want to but can't get sleep, headache (not much). The worst of all is apathy in my case (Good! I am glad it is over!)
