I remember three teachers who were instrumental in giving me hope. I went to a community college and transferred to USC in my 40's. By the way, I'm still paying the loan! Teacher #1) I was crying in class because I had been diagnosed as bi-polar, and had a medication reaction. When I told her the reason, she consoled me and encouraged me to stay in school.
Teacher #2) She was well aware that I was spending 30 hours a week in lab for math, and I hired a tutor who was 20 miles away. Then she sent me to the disabilities department, and I was diagnosed as having dyscalculia. She and the Dean of Student Affairs went to Sacramento on my behalf to seek a waiver. They won.
There we many others we helped me emotionally through college. But I want to tell you about this embarassing moment in high school Teacher #3) I was in swim class and all the girls had a chest, and I didn't . So, I decided to load the top of my suit with rags. And I mean to tell you, the rags were falling out, one at a time, and floated all over the pool, all colors. The teacher saw what was happening and rushed the girls inside. Oh, I was so devastated and that cute, cute life guard saw the whole thing. The teacher was so kind and told me that I would be issued a suit of my own and for me to sew in pads, in those days called "Falsies." I did graduate from USC, always remember the teachers who cared, and never cheated to get me through.

I thought I did until I found a couple of old school photos on the internet, they didn't look anything like I remembered them. I recognised a few old classmates readily but not the teachers.
