Does any body know where I can get embossing materials here in the Philippines? Where can I buy embossing ink pads, embossing powders, a heat gun... etc.? Thanks!

I wonder where the printers in Recto are buying their materials. I'm a little skeptical that they are able to buy materials abroad/online.

I'm assuming you can get the supplies online if you can't find them in a store.

Try Stampin' Up online, maybe a demo could order the supplies for you and then send to you. I know a demo here, let me know if you'd like to contact her.

Otherwise, there are other sites online, I just don't know where they send things to...

I don't know about the embossing powders since they're a special type of powder that melts with heat, but embossing ink is just plain old glycerin and that should be available in any country (in drug stores, or animal supply stores for horses' hooves, or probably in baking supply stores).
You can also use any ink that *dries slowly*, like ballpoint pen ink, or those special slow-drying "brush" ink pens (which can even be used on rubberstamps).

As for the heat gun, you can buy an embossing gun or you can use a regular heat gun from the hardware store ...that type will get much hotter though, so you'll have to hold it farther away than you would an embossing heat gun.

Another option for melting the powder is the older way of heating the paper (with ink and embossing powder on it) from *underneath* instead of from the top... for example, holding the paper just over a lightbulb then swaying it around a bit till the powder melts completely.
Putting the paper in the oven would probably work too, but not sure about temperature or time.

Good luck!

Hi,

I live in a remote area so I can't get to shops for my materials. So I shop via internet. So many places offer to ship your materials and you can choose so many lovely items. Put what you want into a search engine and just see what is around. I love to get good things to work at my projects with. Ebay and other places are great to get your supplies.

Good luck.
