Is there some specific car maintenance that I will need to do so engine, brakes and oil all are fine when I do start up my car again?

3 months is not a big deal, I store a car for 11 months every year and a bike that sits for 5-6 months. If you plan on storing a car an oil change is a good idea, trickle charger on a timer to keep the battery charged, for 3 months you don't need gas stabilizer.

You really don't need to do much for this amount of time. If it is cold where you live, make sure the anti-freeze is at the correct mixture so your engine doesn't freeze.

You may want to pour some Stabil on the gas and let the engine run for a few minutes to protect the fuel system. Follow the instructions on the bottle. You can purchase this at most department stores with an automotive section, or at any automotive parts store.

Before you start it after it sits, you may want to put the battery on a charger for a bit. This will ease the load in the electrical system the first time you drive it.

The brakes may make a little noise the first couple of times you use them, but this will go away quickly.

If the car is due an oil change, do it before you park it. If it had one recently, don't worry about it.

There is no need to start periodically.

I own a Hot Rod that I park every winter and don't do much more than this. It is stored from November until May. Have not had any problems.

You don't need to get too carried away unless you plan on parking it for 6 months or longer.

You should go out and start it at least once a week. Drive it around the yard occasionally too. It's not good for the tires either to just sit for long periods of time.

Park it with a full tank of gas, and forget about it. The battery may hold charge just fine.

It's worse to have the neighbors kid drive it for you! It will be fine, just let it idle and don't rev it up when you re-start it after sitting.

Its usually suggested that you run the car for a few minutes a week to keep everything lubricated.

You should put some Stabil in the gas so it doesn't get skunky.
