We used to do that when the family was all together and we exchanged gifts with everyone. Now that so many have passed away, it's not really necessary to make a list to exchange gifts anymore. We only have a few relatives that we buy for.

My brother and I have sometimes done that because it's so darned hard to shop for each other. We came on the idea of giving each other lists of various items we'd like, in various price ranges, so the other could have some idea of something we'd want.

Lol. Used to do it for my birthday, but since I'm getting a bit older now I only want one or two things that are just awesome! So i drop subtle hints to my parents to get me them.

You might find this hard to believe....but these days, I find it very hard to think of things I actually want. But I do like it if my family give me lists of things *they* would like.
