"There are few people happy with the dispute between the NFL and major cable companies in regards to the new 'NFL Network' cable channel. Last year, several big games could not be seen by millions of viewers because the NFL and major cable companies like 'Time Warner' and 'Comcast' could not agree on where to put this network and how much money is paid to the NFL by each cable subscriber. This week, the 'moment of truth' is at hand as millions of Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers fans will be unable to see these two great teams play next Thursday night because of this ongoing dispute. Both the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers will be going into Thursday nights game with an unbelievable 10-1 win/loss record and every NFL fan wants to witness this game on live television. However, most of the United States will not see this football game and the greed of both the NFL and major cable companies are equally to blame."
Milwaukee/Green Bay will get the game-no one else w/o a dish?????

A bunch of crap is right.
I have to try to find a sports bar to see this.
The NFL has become a greedy corporation that does not care about the fan. Call 212 450 2000 (the NFL office in New York) and tell the NFL what you think.

Yes i can watch the game without the dish. Thank Goodness I live in Milwaukee. I feel sorry for the fans who live in Madison which is less than an hour away from Milwaukee and the fans who live in other parts of the state who can only watch the game if they have the dish. It's not only the Packers, you have to have the Big Ten network which is only on dish to see the Badgers play. Its just so sad!!!

Thank you for bringing this up. This subject is INFURIATING!! I live in St. Petersburg, FL. But we have a Slingbox (allows you to watch a TV via the computer.) The Slingbox is attached to my best friend's TV IN MADISON WI!!!!!! So despite being less than an hour drive from Milwaukee the game will NOT be on in Madison and I will NOT be able to watch the game. We are steamed!
We aren't opposed to a sports bar, but I have 3 kids and the game comes on at bedtime. And the kids have school tomorrow. So I can't do that to the kids. So my plan is to try to find it online. Even if I can just listen to it. But I will NOT pay NFL.com any money in order to see or listen to the game. I wish the NFL and cable companies would come to an agreement that is best for FANS not the already overloaded NFL wallet.

I HATE THE IDEA OF THE NFL NETWORK!!!
They are moving to the system like in England. There to watch Premiere league soccer you must by a satellite dish that distributes it.
I don't have cable an I would not want to live in a country where I can not watch the largest sporting events for Free.(paid by commercials)

I must have missed the Question . This is a statement and you are right .The fault lies with bot the NFL and the cable industry both sides instead of working tings out .They just sling mud at each other and that is not the answer the real losers are the viewers caught in the middle . Makes me glad i have direct TV.

I prefer DirecTV cuz I can get the NFL Sunday Ticket too!!
Hey it's their network, if they wanted to, they could ALL the games on NFLN exclusively, but..there is more money allowing other networks to carry the games.
However, they are trying to grow a fledgling network and I don't blame them for keeping a few games (only 6 out of 256 total games) to try to grow their network. Hey, when the schedule was made back in April, noone could have guessed this game would be this big.

Yes I can see the game in my city....IF I go to a sports bar.
:*-(
My cable company does not offer NFL network in their basic package. You have to upgrade to a "sports package" and it costs about $15 extra per month while you only get a few channels...most of them being ESPN stations.
I guess they figure we should be happy that they finally included the Big Ten Network in basic cable.
I also cannot afford a dish...it'll be out more than it'll be on. We have really nasty weather here in Ohio most months out of the year. (snif)

Look, I think it's rediculous as well. But do yourselves a favor. Get Direct TV and lump your phone bill and internet with your cable bill all through Verizon, it's much cheaper than anything alse. Get yourselves a plasma because Dircet TV has 100 channels in HD, and NFL networks comes with the standard package. You save money and get to watch all of the games.

The cable industry actually went before Congress in an attempt to force the NFL to allow them to broadcast these games. This failed.
Basically Wu-Tang was right when they said "Cash rules everything around me." The NFL is selling to the highest bidder.

I live in southern Wisconsin, and it's not going to be broadcast it here locally. But I have the channel on Direct TV so im not complaining. It is a rip off though to football fans. especially if you have cable, it's a waste of $.But if you don't get the channel you can watch it online at
http://www.live-sports-online.com/sporttv.html
(click on NFL TV)
or http://www.nfl.com/live ( there will be a link on the site that you can click on to watch it live on game day.)
both live/free and you can watch it
