I am going to San Francisco next week and I want to go to the Warriors game. I know Oracle Arena is in SE Oakland, and from what I have read, I'm guessing that it's in the hood.

I have a feeling that they will charge me an arm and a leg to park in the arena parking lot. Is the surrounding area unsafe? Would it be a bad idea for me to park there?

The surrounding area is pretty ghetto but if you take BART there is a bridge and pathway that leads directly to the arena and other people will be around walking to the game too. Parking is under $20, I think it's $10 or $15 so it's not too bad but still pricey.

Driving there and parking would put you closer to the gate. But BART is very easy and cheaper to take as well, either way just don't go strolling neighborhood surrounding the arena afterwards but it's totally fine to take BART or park there.

take bart from SF to the Coliseum station. drops you off right there. no need for parking and there is a fully enclosed walkway with security.

I would not venture anywhere in the surrounding area myself. but then I am a woman, and that's just not good in Oakland day or night.

Don't take a chance. Park your car and be safe and alive

tonalc1 and Sav are both right, but you really have to ask yourself, "Wouldn't I rather pay a bit more to keep my car safer, than put myself and my car at risk?"
