I am 37 weeks pregnant and I am so scared to go into labour. But I just want to know how will I know? I lost my mucus plug 1 1/2 weeks ago and every morning(and through the night) I wake up in excrushiating pain in my hips and lower back kind of like when I have menstrual cramps. But when I get up and move around it goes away. How will I know for sure?

Oh you will know. Probably not when you FIRST start real labor but you will after it doesn't go away and gets stronger. It really takes your breath away, you can't eat because the contractions get closer together, etc. You'll have pain, your water will break, you might expel your mucus plug which looks like snot (perhaps some blood mixed in with it, etc). You will know....

nothing to fear... women have babies every single day! Just get to the hospital as soon as you can when you really DO KNOW.

Good Luck.

It wont go away, and it will be more intense. You'll know.

DOnt be afraid of labor, it'll make it worse. You'll be tense and it'll cause more pain and keep your body from doing what it has to, making it take longer. Just relax. You're made for labor and delivery its the most exciting day of your life.

Believe me you will know! Your contractions will take your breath away. You will feel VERY uncomfortable. I always had this thought when I was pregnant too, but when the time happened, I knew it was time to get to the hospital. Congratulations!!
