First cover the oil with kitty litter, leave it on for a couple of hours, sweep it off, and with a strong solution of dish washing detergent, "dawn", pour it on full strength, cover the area with a tarp of some kind, then brush vigorously with a stiff broom. Gasoline works good too, but its pretty volatile, so use caution.

If you mean oil from your driveway, try pouring dry cement on the oil. leave it there for a while and maybe sweep it around to stir it. and a couple hours check it, the cement should soak it up, you can also use cat litter, its just slower.

Clay cat litter will absorb the stain. Sprinkle it on generously and let set for several hours. (My dad did this all the time, he was a mechanic for years) (Clay is the cheap stuff litter)
