do you mean a pap smear? It could just show some changes in the cells which doesnt nessecarily mean cancer but it could be a different STD they found or something? Dont get too worked up over it. Let us know how it goes. I hope for the best.

Dont be worried about it! Everyone has an abnormal pap smear here and there, it usually turns out to be nothing. Just go and get it over with. The only thing I'm curious about is why it took 5 months to get results? That seems like an awful long time, maybe it is not concerning your pap smear at all, maybe it is just time for your next appointment? I only say that because its 5 months later? Go! Get it over with! Good luck!!

they can show all sorts of things, few of them anything to worry about. They can also be faulty because of an insufficient sample or a test gone wrong, just needs to be done again. My money's on a repeat test or a minor uterine infection. Don't panic.
Oh and ignore the gloom-and-doom mongers further up the page - they are clueless idiots, and trying to frighten you because they get off on the power trip. Likewise the offensive god-botherer; medicine cures people, or the patient's inner strength and immune system, not someone's imaginary friend.

After 5 months it doesn't make sense that the doctor would want to see you. If you had a medical condition then you would have been called right away. Call and talk to the nurse and ask what is going on.

You had "abnormal cells," most likely and now they will likely do a more specific test or the doc may tell you that you have some sort of infection, likely curable with a round of antibiotics. Don't worry. At least you have a good doctor!
Relax and get healed through peace and prayer.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.
Luckly there is a cure for herpes https://tr.im/a4f84

More than likely it is something bad. Considering the secretary didn't know anything about it and the doctor wants to see you in person. They don't disclose anything over the phone if it's bad.
Also, doctors are very busy, so if the doctor wants to see you, then I would be concerned.

I would be very concerned why a doctor would wait that long to contact me. I know of no tests that take that length of time to come back. Sounds like she forgot to read your results and just filed them. It could be serious or not, but, if there is anything serious wrong, I would investigate why and perhaps take action. good luck

Don't be scared, this is quite common. Most women experience and abnormal pap at some point in their life. They just need to do another one and that one will probably show nothing. You have nothing to fear until they tell you so, okay :-)
