Any candidate with a hope has to distance themselves from Bush.

Wouldn't you want to distance yourself from George Bush if you were a Republican running for President? It certainly wouldn't be good politics for a Republican candidate to align himself with Bush right now considering his approval rating. That's the reason Karl Rove left the White House. Remember how protective he was of Bush. Now he's out telling the Conservative candidates to stay away from Bush and Bush topics if they want to win the election.

They are not doing any thing of the sort . In fact McCain was telling the surge has been a great success and the war is to be won. Is it not an endorsement of Bush's success by him ? He may be chosen as the running mate of the eventual Republican nominee.

Yes they all give excuses and then blather on about "Staying The course" .

Ron Paul is the only republican running who didnt support the War then and doesnt now, he is the only Republican who will get us out of Iraq immediately. He bashes some of Bushes policies but not Bush himself.

I said we shouldn't go into Iraq from the get go. That doesn't mean I think Bush is a failure. Misguided, yes, but not a failure.

All the republican candidates (except Ron Paul) have identical views when compared to George Bush (neocon views which include worldwide military interventionism & nearly unlimited government expansion)

However they are scared to say his name.
