I don't see why they would change the due date because of the baby's size. Not all babies are born at the same weight. Either way, the baby will come when he/she is ready. Due dates are just estimates. Hope that helps

If they used high-resolution ultrasound, about this time in pregnancy it is accurate to within a few days of your actual due date. This is because all babies grow at essentially the same pace early on--the variability you see almost always comes in differences in growth in the second half of pregnancy. So, with a good technician and a high-quality machine, your ultrasound date is likely to be more accurate than calculating by LMP, particularly if you are not perfectly regular in your cycles.
Having said that, the 2 dates you give are not very far apart, and certainly there is more than 4 days of variability in when women go into labor. Many go several weeks early, and many others are induced a week or 2 late.
Congratulations on your pregnancy, and good luck to you!

CONGRATS! im pregnant too. and originally we thought our due date was going to be April 7, but i went in for an ultrasound and it got changed to May 3, i was off by a month. the ultrasound is more likely more correct than your guess. the ultrasound measures how big the baby is, and then they let you know how big the baby is at the time to measure as close to the due date as possible. so your answer would be yes.

Usually an ultrasound is plus or minus a week, so most doctors won't actually change your due date if it's less than seven days off. However, first trimester ultrasounds are generally accurate within a day or two--based on size AND development--so that's probably why your doctor changed your date! Good luck!

The assessment is based on the baby's development. You may have conceived earlier in the month many of us ovulate at different times ans it also depends on the length of your menstrual cycle. The date is only an estimate and can go 1 - 2 weeks either way when it comes to birth time.

Due dates change often when you have an ultrasound. Its not the size of the baby its its development, they have formulas they use to decide the age of the baby.
LMP is not accurate for women who ovulate at weird times, have really long cycles, or if they had a fluke ovulation on a weird day.
Its normal.

The sonogram dates are based by growth.
I had the same experience.
LMP date was November 22, Sonogram date was December 12th and the baby was born on November 16.
Hope this helps!

When i first went to the dr they told me I was due Feb. 26th. Looking at the size of baby at ultrasound they changed it to March 24th and had me come in every 2 weeks to check baby's growth. They told me I must have just skipped a period ( for the first time in my life). Who Knows! The baby will come when he/she is ready and just to be on the safe side, I am going to be ready in Feb. You never know!! LOL
Good luck and congrats!

I had a huge toddler too, in accordance to ultrasound. My tech suggested an identical venture at one factor. yet my record instructed me that the 1st ultrasound I had (which detected the heart beat) grow to be the excellent one and maximum sturdy simply by fact the fetus is replacing so quickly at that factor, the landmarks for age are very sure. That one had suggested i grow to be 5 days previous to the chart approach the docs use in accordance to cycle. This made experience to me simply by fact I had an exceedingly popular 24 day cycle, no longer 28. in spite of the undeniable fact that as i grow to be going alongside, the tech grow to be measuring my toddler getting larger and bigger! i grow to be having quite some ultrasounds, one a week from 32 weeks on simply by fact of PIH, and at 35 weeks she instructed me the gadget grow to be asserting i grow to be 40 weeks. At 38 weeks the gadget suggested i grow to be previous due and the toddler grow to be 10.5 kilos! My record scheduled a c-section for the subsequent Monday when I grew to become 39 weeks in accordance to the chart. My son got here out at in basic terms 8 lbs and 12 oz.! yet he grow to be precisely 40 weeks in accordance to the nurses (they have a manner of checking the gestational age) so he grow to be a pair of week forward like my first ultrsound suggested. From what i found out for the period of my being pregnant, they genarally do no longer exchange the due date simply by toddlers length. If possibly a mom is obtainable in and says her final era grow to be on August 1st and whilst she has an ultrasound on September seventh it exhibits a nicely stepped forward toddler of three months, possibly she grow to be having recognizing for some months and grow to be no longer conscious she grow to be pregnant! Then the due date could get replaced from the unique date of say might 1st to March 1st. (Thats no longer precise dates, yet you in all threat get my factor). The dates are frequently considerably distinctive with a view to alter them, i think of there is even an volume of time that must be the variation. nicely, good success inclusive of your toddler!
