I'm 35 weeks pregnant, and I think my water maybe leaking.(not much)...but just a lil bit. I know this because I have the nitratest paper at home. I felt a lil trickle and check it with the test paper and it turned blue. But I checked it again 2 hrs later and nothing. I don't want to worry and I also have a prenatal visit tmrw.I'm just thinking to wait until then.I'm just wondering if it is safe to just wait. Just need some advice. This is my 3rd pregnancy and this never happened with the other two, and I know every pregnancy is different. Just need some feedback.

Since you are not having contractions, it would be safe to wait a while, although you should definitely call your doc to let them know since you are 35 weeks along.

A woman does not have to immediately bolt to the hospital at the first trickle of waters, especially if you're not absolutely sure that's what it was.

My waters started leaking out with my 3rd pregnancy at 38 weeks and this was also a first for me. The midwife said I could stay at home until I started getting contractions that were too painful to talk through, so I didn't go in until many hours later, which was good because I was able to get some rest at home before labor.

In the meantime, to avoid risk of infection do not take a bath (submerge yourself in water) or be intimate.

And you might want to wear some heavy maxis.

All the best to you!

Since you have the paper and got a positive result on that you should call your Dr. at least just to let them know. My water broke at 35 weeks with my last baby and I was induced the next day to avoid risk of infection. Do Not take a bath or have intercourse if your water is leaking.

Good luck to you!

p.s. with my 3rd my water leaked for 6 hours and I spent the whole time convincing my self I was just peeing myself lol. It would start/stop/start/stop etc. The baby's head can actually 'cork' the leak.

Just wanted to add - they diid not try to prolong my labor nor did I get any steroids, my daughter was born healthy as could be and went home with me the following day.

Call your doctor/clinic/midwife to at least alert them to what's happening. There is a risk of infection or your baby may already have one, which could mean this is it!

If you have to wait until tomorrows appointment, try to take it extra easy in case you are right. At 35 weeks they may want to put you on bed-rest to prevent this progressing further. They may be able to give you steroids to help the baby's lungs mature quicker, just in case you deliver early. You have two other children (like me) and you are busier than you should be whilst carrying, its unavoidable isn't it? They still tell you to rest!
My 3rd arrived by emergency section, at exactly 35wks, but my waters had most definitely broken! They were still going to hospitalise me for two weeks bed-rest etc, but I went into labour anyway. All the very best.

Call your doctor/clinic. They may be able to stop it, and if not, they may have time to give you meds to mature baby's lungs.
They will at least be able to tell you what to do.
My waters broke, and I lost every drop in week 19 (!), nobody thought baby was going to make it, but I filled up again (somewhat), and though I was leaking for 12 weeks he was born small, but healthy in week 30.
Avoiding infections is everything - call!

When your water breaks, sometimes it gushes, and other times it trickles out. If there is ANY chance that it could be your water breaking, it is not safe to wait. I'd call your dr. Once your water breaks, there is a chance for an infection to develop...so it's important to get yourself checked. Good luck!

Why don't you call your doctor's office and tell them the same thing you told us. And let them decided what is best for you. Since you had a positive result and then not positive, that is a little odd.

Take care and best of luck!!!
